Shanny Cohen was born and raised in Sun Valley, Idaho. She started ski racing at age 5 and spent the following 12 years traveling the wold as a competitive Alpine ski racer. Shanny worked with the US Ski Team’s Alpine Development System prior to switching disciplines. At age 17 Shanny had a change of heart and moved to Aspen, CO to begin training to compete in slopestyle events. Her very first slopestyle competition was the US Freeskiing Open in 2008 where she took 8th place.

Shanny continued to compete in slopestyle events until 2011 after she suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury prancing for The Aspen Open. Throughout her career Shanny placed top 10 in every event she entered including events like The Dew Tour, The Revolution Tour, North Face Park and Pipe Open etc.

Shanny has retired from competition but you can find her on the backcountry on her snowmobile or throwing down tricks in the terrain park.

During the spring, summer and fall you will find Shanny with the number 27 on her back racing motocross.

Shanny is certified for personal training through American Council on Exercise and is a personal trainer at Zenergy Health Club and Spa in Sun Valley, ID. She specializes in Orthopedic Exercise.

Keep an eye out for Shanny as she is one of the most diverse female athletes in the industry right now.
